Reaching In & Reaching Out

An Arts Enrichment Program

In a world filled with external distractions, tweets and media bombardment, our young people have few opportunities to
reach in, find their inner voice, and reach out to others with that voice.
Reaching In & Reaching Out
provides young people with that opportunity.

The Greenwich Art Society, a one hundred year old art school in downtown Greenwich, is where we are holding our current sessions with a wonderful
class of second graders from Bridgeport, CT.
Through art history we are exploring the connection between art & music!  Please see photos below from recent sessions and all the happy artists being creatively inspired!

My New Arts Enrichment Program!

Reaching In & Reaching Out

An Arts Enrichment Program

In a world filled with external distractions, tweets and media bombardment, our young people have few opportunities to
reach in, find their inner voice, and reach out to others with that voice.
Reaching In & Reaching Out provides young people with that opportunity.

“By all accounts this was an overwhelming success!”
Ralph Paladino, Principal, Barnum Elementary, Bridgeport, CT

Thursday, October 25, was a very exciting day, I launched my first
Reaching In & Reaching Out program at the Greenwich Art Society
in downtown Greenwich, CT.  We had 24 second graders from Barnum Elementary in Bridgeport, CT come to the studio for a fun 1.5 hour session.  Our program combined art making, art history and a live jazz performance by noted tenor saxophonist,
Bennie Wallace, Founder of Back Country Jazz.

We made collages from (90%) recycled materials inspired by their own creative imaginations and live jazz music Their creative juices were flowing!

I want to extend my gratitude to Jennifer, their terrific teacher; Ralph Paladino, Principal, Barnum Elementary and Ralph Buzzard, Head of Visual Arts, Bridgeport Board of Ed, for all their support in making this event for the kids happen!  Also want to thank Anna Patalano, President of the Greenwich Art Society for her generous support and use of the Society's Studio classroom!
